Draw Order Question?

Draw Order Question?

Postby pyst7lot » Sun May 17, 2026 12:28 am

I have a game to play which involves picking 4 numbers from 40 in draw order.
Now for the hard part - trying to explain what I'm looking for. :)
The last draw was
40 15 38 07
The highest number was drawn 1st and the lowest number was drawn 4th
The order for all numbers is
01 03 02 04
Highest - 3rd highest - 2nd highest - 4th highest.

Is there a filter which can make use of this in any way.
Ie. I want to eliminate all lines which match any two of the order in the previous draw.

Just mention the filter, if there is one. I'll try to work it out and ask more questions if I can't. :)

It's probably not going to do me much good. I'm going around in circles again. I think I had problems with draw order before - a lot of the filters don't seem to work as they should or I'm doing something wrong.

Would the "Match Winning Positions" filter work?

I certainly do use that filter and the positional filters for first and last digits.
They help a bit with what I want to do but not quite all the way.

There are 24 possible ways for the numbers to be drawn.
Then there are only 6 ways for the order for each pair of numbers.
There are 6 pairs in a 4 number draw,

With that I wonder what 'damage' to a full package can be done if none of the numbers appear in the same order as the previous draw.

I'm finding a lot of the filters working ok with draw order numbers.
The Statistical Filter is not one of them unfortunately.

Been having fun reducing a draw order 6/40 package from 4096000000 lines to 5000000 approx
I did use a lot of 50/50 filters like 1,3,5 or 0,2,4,6 odd or even numbers.

An interesting discovery - the winning line appeared 126 times (in different order) in those 5000000 lines.
Which is better than ONE time in approx 4000000 lines.

Still need luck to get all the correct 50/50 chances. :)

I think I need to investigate this further. :)

Highest Match filter with "Any Pair" selected(?).

I tried it without understanding it. It does seem to do something.
My mind is a mess at the moment - trying to play three different games and confusing myself and forgetting which filters are working well with which game.

Now I need to go read the help file for Highest Match to find out why Any Pair does something and all the other options did nothing.

Match Winning Positions-> "Matching positions must come from the same draw" with "At least [2] to [2] positions must pass." = will filter for exact positions of pairs from the selected draws.

Highest Match-> "Any Pair" = will filter for any pairs in any order at any positions from the selected draws.

Statistical Filter-> "Pairs" with "Applies to [1] to [1] in each ticket." = will filter for pairs that are in order of the selected draws at any positions.

These are just the basic setups for pairs. Let me know if you need more info.

Oops, thanks tdnl. I did work it out.
It is very similar to Match Winning Numbers.

Draw Order is a bad idea. :)
I tried everything but reducing 8,303,765,500 approx lines is quite a task.

I may not have given up on using a Draw Order Winning Numbers Table and Package.
I just need to be a bit more selective with the filters I use.
Positional filters are OUT! I want to keep all 720 possible instances of the winning numbers in my package.
That's 6*5*4*3*2=720 possible ways the 6 numbers can appear.
Using positional fllters WILL reduce that number.
