Progressive Last Digits

Progressive Last Digits

Postby PadawanLotto » Thu Feb 07, 2013 10:32 pm

I have been looking at Progressive Last Digits (Last Digits that positionally increase in value left to right).
I found in the Rolling Cash 5 that positions 1 - 5 the last digits are non-progressive 98% of the drawings.
I found that 68% of the drawings positions 4 - 5 are progressive.
It might be nice to test this idea out in DEV. The only possible positional ranges would be 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, 2-3, 2-4, 2-5, 3-4, 3-5, 4-5.

Looks simple enough to implement but what does the 'range' parameter actually mean?

I don't know but I think this looks like something tough to implement. Any chance of this as a feature?

Last digit positions.

So it actually means how many last digits must be progressive to accept a ticket, right? For example with settings 3 to 4 the filter will accept a ticket if it has at least 3 and at most 4 progressive last digits, correct?

Progressive/Non-Progressive Last Digits by Position.

And if the last digits are 1-2-4-5-6:
filter settings 'range 2-2' would accept the ticket?
filter settings 'range 3-3' would reject the ticket?

The formula I used in Excel to determine if positions 1 thru 5 were progressive (=AND (P2>=P1, P3>=P2, P4>=P3, P5>=P4).

The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 1 thru 5 progressively increase in value.
The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 1 thru 4 progressively increase in value.
The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 1 thru 3 progressively increase in value.
The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 1 thru 2 progressively increase in value.
The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 2 thru 5 progressively increase in value.
The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 2 thru 4 progressively increase in value.
The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 2 thru 3 progressively increase in value.
The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 3 thru 5 progressively increase in value.
The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 3 thru 4 progressively increase in value.
The idea is to see if the last digits in positions 4 thru 5 progressively increase in value.

The spin buttons would only have positional range choices of 1 to 5, 1 to 4, 1 to 3, 1 to 2, 2 to 5, 2 to 4, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 3 to 5, and 4 to 5.

If last digits in positions 1 thru 5 progressively increase in value (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) = TRUE, the last digit combination is progressive.

If last digits in positions 1 thru 5 progressively increase in value (1, 2, 1, 4, 5) = FALSE, the last digit combination is Non- progressive. In this statement the last digit of 1 in the 3rd position makes the last digit combination Non-Progressive.

If last digits in positions 4 thru 5 progressively increase in value (2, 1, 3, 4, 5) = TRUE, the last digit combination is progressive.

If last digits in positions 4 thru 5 progressively increase in value (1, 2, 1, 6, 5) = FALSE, the last digit combination is Non- progressive. In this statement the last digit of 6 in the 4th position makes the last digit combination Non-Progressive.

I hope this makes things a little clearer, for my 5/39 I would use (Progressive Last Digits range is from position 1 to 5, REJECT) to filter out all of the progressive last digit combinations.

Thanks
Padawan

PadawanLotto or Stan:

I've been playing around with the Progressive last digit filter and believe there maybe a problem with the filters logic. Or it is possible I don't completely understand the filter.

Here is an example of where I think the filter is not correct:

ticket number 03, 04, 06, 09, 19 is NON progressive(1 to 5 setting used) to me because p4 is equal to p5 not greater than. If the filter is using the last digit, this ticket should be recognized as non progressive, but it is being recognized as progressive. Am I not, understanding the definition of non progressive or how the filter should be interpreted?

Thanks,

No, the filter logic is that a progressive digit is greater or equal to the previous one.

Thanks for the response, but I don't think EQUAL is progressive more like neutral. Just my opinion and I will have to sit this one aside.
