New filters available

There are two new experimental filters available - Match Numbers at Intervals and Match Positions at Intervals
To install the filters click menu Tools - Plugins - Settings and make sure you have Experimental Plugins Updates ticked. Then go to Available Plugins tab and select Number Intervals plugin and install it. See the attachments for filter description. If you have more questions regarding the new filters, please contact Spy who sponsored the development of those filters.

Stan,

When I download your NumberIntervals.zip file, then unzip it, and try to read it in NotePad or WordPad, I can see only a kind of unreadible text or unreadible characters. I do not know what happens. How can I read the information on new experimental filters?

The files in MS Excel format. If you don't have MS Office you can install MS Office Viewer (it's free) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... aspx?id=10
You may also need MS format converter: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... .aspx?id=3

Hi Stan,

I would like to set filter:
e.g.Latest five draws are:
14.mar.12 23 33 34 39 41 45
16.mar.12 02 14 27 32 36 46
19.mar.12 01 12 22 35 36 44
20.mar.12 02 11 22 31 42 47
21.mar.12 05 15 24 30 34 42

From draw 21.mar.12 (05 15 24 30 34 42) - one number should be at its position.
From draw 20.mar.12 (02 11 22 31 42 47) - two numbers should be at their positions.

14.mar.12 23 33 34 39 41 45
16.mar.12 02 14 27 32 36 46
19.mar.12 01 12 22 35 36 44
From draws 14-19.mar.12 - three numbers should be at their positions.
Is it posible to use new filters to achieve that, and if it is posible HOW?

Stan,

Thank you for the download link to MS Office Viewer.

It seems to me that the idea of new filters is both difficult to explain and difficult to understand when it is presented in the Excel file. But describing these filters in a Word file would be probably more difficult.

To find out what can be achieved with new filters some experimentation is necessary and worth doing. I noticed that Match Positions at Intervals filter works very fast. But Match Numbers at Intervals filter is extremely slow, so slow that using it is impractical. However, I used it for 7/45 game (45,379,620 combinations in the package). I have to see how it works for 5/45 game.

Regards

Jerzy

Stan,

Are these new filters design to work for 7/xy games?

Yes, they should work in any Jackpot-like lottery.

The Match Numbers at Intervals filter is best if used at the end of your strategy. Reducing from a full wheel in any size of lottery will be slow due to the nature of the filter.
Use the Ticket Index filter to leave in a package 10,000 to 20,000 tickets or create a full wheel with less numbers so you can check how the filter functions.

If you have any questions regarding the excel files or the filters functionality, let me now and I'll try my best to explain.

@ psofr

If you want to do such a small calculation of draws, you can put the numbers you wish into the Numbers at Positions at the respective positions - which will have the exact same effect in reducing a package as the Match Intervals at Positions filter.

spf302,

I started eperimenting with both filters to feel and understand how they work. Probably the most challenging filters in EL. There are 5 parameters to set: number of latest draws, match count value, find past draws from the latest one, repeat for x latest draws, accept or reject. All parameters are correlated. I am trying to find the best approach to testing these filters. Creating statistics in Excel to find the best set of parameters seems to be very difficult. Running the filters, using various parameters, takes time and requires a lot of organization. How do you test or tested these filters?

I feel that the Match Positions filter could be more effective, able to reject more tickets more accurately. Whats your opinion?

The Match Positions fitler is for sure easier to work with as the calculation is much faster and the concept is much easier to understand. Analysing these filters does take a lot of time, but its worth it as I condider them to be both strong filters. I dedicate a little of my time every day and analyse them more and more. Especially the non positional filter, it does take a lot of time to analyse even in excel.

If enough people request it, maybe Stan could consider adding some stats in the WN Properties, especially for the Positional filter, that show the match found when choosing i.e. 10 latest draws, 15 latest draws etc ( similar to the Repeating Numbers stats).
