Hello players,
Does anyone can share how to use this filter Match Ticked Index, please? It is in Winning Numbers; I guess it was released few weeks ago. I had a look at the help file but it is not clear. Stan, could you give some insight on how to use it ? If there is a pro player more experienced which uses a set of filters, please share ideas!!!
Who asked to have that plugin developed, could you care sharing the tricks / methods, please?
Cheers,
tintan

That filter compares individual digits in the ticket index value with the digits of ticket index value of past draws.

I've been trying some calculations for this filter.
Hit the same digits as the future draw compared to past draw.
This is not something that is easy and it is not something that comes often.
example.
If you only use the last draw to try to hit the next draw, the average is between 0 and 1.
Sometimes it comes 2 and rarely comes 3.
Still many tickets remain when it comes 3 digits from the previous draw.
Summing up....
It would be interesting if this filter would accept repetitions of the draw drawn from ANY position.
I think this would exclude more tickets.

Hi, I tried some tests on the Demo 6/49 lotto.

2010/28 Sun 1st 7,453,915
2010/28 Sun 2nd 13,737,320
2010/29 Wed 1st 9,351,467
______________________________
2010/29 Wed 2nd 2,749,693 drawn numbers 2,12,13,27,29,31 (7)

Comparing Wed 2nd and Wed 1st, there are 5 repetitions which are 7,4,9,6,3
Comparing Wed 2nd against Sun 2nd there are 3 repetitions which are 2,7,3

These repetitions are found at any position, not the exact ticket position.

I toggled off the latest draw Wed 2nd so the latest is now Wed 1st

To use 1 latest draw, 5 to 5 or 5 to 8, doesn’t find the winning ticket, it would only find the ticket if it matches exactly in the same ticket index position column.

(5 to 8, 1 latest draw found 1985 tickets, 5 to 8, 2 latest draws found 23,340 tickets, 5 to 5, 1 latest draw found 1985 tickets, 5 to 5, 2 latest draws found 23,340 tickets)

So as edymurph said, it would be good if this filter could find repetitions of index numbers from ANY position.

As in the example above, there were 5 repetitions between Wed 1st and Wed 2nd and 3 repetitions between Wed 2nd against Sun 2nd when they are compared against any position.

From the mantis issue: http://expertlotto.com/issues/view.php?id=153

Yes, but to repeat on the same position . How many index digits are repeated from previous draw(s) in the same position .

One more question - if one ticket index is e.g. 123456789 and the other ticket index is 3456 do you want to compare '3456' with '6789' or with '1234'?

With '6789 ' as to be compared '000003456 ' with '123456789'

Hi D1 ...
(... Just as edymurph said: It would be nice if this filter could find repetitions of index numbers from any position ...)
Exactly.
I see you understand my point of view.
In my lottery the ticket index is between 0 and 7.
I've been doing some calculations based on the last result and what I realized was what I said earlier.
Repeats 1 or maybe none ... sometimes repeats 2 and rarely repeats 3.
The more previous sweepstakes you choose to compare reps, the fewer games are excluded from the package.

It can compare with any previous isolated result.
Ex. I will use my lottery to explain.
It is currently in the 1849 draw.
If I thought I was going to repeat 5 numbers for the 1850 of the previous draw 600, I could just use this isolated draw with min and max 5.
Then there would be a good filtering.
But I find it impossible to know if the future draw will repeat 4.5 or 6 numbers from any past draw and even more to know which one. :( :(

That's why I said it would be interesting if the filter accepted in any position.

Hi edymurph,

If the filter accepted tickets from ANY position, you could look back over your past games and see what the average repeated digits were over the columns (that it was for most games), and then filter for that setting. For example, you may choose 5 if it reduced the package further, but like you said, it may not be 5 every game, it could be less than 5 some games, then sometimes be 5, (or even more like 6 for example)

You can also create a new ticket index lottery (based on the original game) for just it’s ticket index positions as the draw numbers. Then you could use other EL software analysis features & filtering on these ticket index numbers, (as well as the “ticket index positions” filter).

Tools, lottery, to ticket index positions

(note that under “winning numbers, properties”, the ticket index position column (in this new ticket index lottery) will be one number less, but this wouldn’t seem to affect other statistics (in this new TI lottery) as the ticket index draw numbers are precise to what they are, from the original ticket index column under “winning numbers, properties” (from the original drawn numbers lottery))

But again, it would be hard to predict which numbers would repeat in exactly the same ticket index column, using the “match ticket index” filter. As you said
Repeats 1 or maybe none ... sometimes repeats 2 and rarely repeats 3.

Thanks
